Welcome to the Center for Health Justice donation center
The need for HIV prevention and treatment cannot be overstated. More than 26 years after its first report, 25% of the one million people living with HIV in the United States are undiagnosed; women, especially women of color, constitute an increasingly large share of new HIV infections in the United States; and one in four persons with HIV pass through a jail or prison each year. Center for Health Justice recognizes these stark realities and employs an innovative prevention and treatment strategy to address them.
By targeting incarcerated people who are living with HIV, or who are at risk for infection, we are closing a major gap in our nation's plan to reduce the spread of HIV and extend the lives of people living with the virus.
When you consider that over 90% of people in prison or jail are released in a matter of months, the benefit of Center for Health Justice's HIV prevention and treatment strategy to the general public is easier to understand. Every client that we empower to make healthier choices is reducing the likelihood of spreading HIV to their sexual partners behind bars or back in their communities.
So please support Center for Health Justice by making a contribution now and help us empower more people affected by incarceration and HIV to make healthier choices.
